As players upgrade the Axe, it dishes out increasing freezing damage and status effects in addition to its blunt force power. The blade on the Axe itself is incredibly sharp and can penetrate armor in addition to the ability to cleave through entire bodies (human or otherwise). Its signature ability is freezing opponents, making them easy targets for the Kratos or his son to finish off. Fortunately, regardless of where it is, the Axe always returns to him, damaging enemies along the way. The Axe's sheer size would make it unwieldy for the average person, but Kratos tosses it around the battlefield with ease.
It was gifted to the frost giant Laufaye and later passed to her husband, Kratos, after her passing. The Leviathan Axe was forged by the blacksmith dwarves Brok and Sindri, a pair of estranged siblings who felt regret after creating Thor’s hammer and seeing the devastation it caused.
